I received this email a few days ago.
Typically, I don’t even look at such emails, but the email mentioned Medium.com — someone from Medium, a fellow writer or reader, got my email address from the site, and wants to make contact, I thought.
I don’t use my p**mail email address anywhere else besides Medium, and Medium hardly looks like the kind of platform where scammers would be hunting for personal information. I did not suspect much.
Recently Medium introduced this feature of letting your subscribers reply to your article directly from their email. I opted in, and maybe this is where this person got my email address. Nothing suspicious.
